4: Advantages
1. Wide hardness range
The hardness range of polyurethane elastomers varies widely, from shaw 0A to shaw 85D. Especially, compared with plastics, polyurethane elastomers still have good rubber elasticity and elongation. Compared with rubber, the improvement of the hardness of polyurethane elastomer does not require the addition of a large amount of filler, as rubber does, at the expense of elasticity and performance.
2. High mechanical strength
(1) the young's modulus range of polyurethane covers a wide range of rubber and plastics, which is incomparable to other materials.
(2) the tear strength of polyurethane is very high, especially the polyester type, which is about twice that of natural rubber.
(3) the compressive strength of polyurethane under low hardness is not high, but it can increase the hardness on the premise of maintaining rubber elasticity, so as to achieve high bearing capacity. However, the hardness of other rubber is limited, so its bearing capacity cannot be significantly improved.
3. Wear resistance
The wear resistance of the material is closely related to its tear strength and surface condition, because the tear strength of polyurethane elastomer is better than that of rubber material, so the wear resistance of polyurethane is very good. The test results are generally within the range of 0.03~0.20mm3/m. The wear resistance is about 3~5 times that of natural rubber.
